Tyson Gillard After Mount Bachelor, Tumalo Falls is perhaps Bend’s most visited natural feature in the winter…and for good reason. Tumalo Falls via Tumalo Creek Trail is a 6.5 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Bend, Oregon that features a waterfall and is rated as moderate.

From the parking lot, this dog-friendly, 2.5-mile trail along Tumalo Falls Road winds through a glaciated valley filled with 30 year-old ponderosa pines planted after the Bridge Creek Fire in 1979. There are areas for picnicking and access to hiking and mountain biking trails. The North Fork Trail is UPHILL ONLY for mountain bikes. You’ll begin this hike in a jammed parking lot, and the first spectacular view is right at hand: 90-foot Tumalo Falls pouring over a basalt ledge.
