Colorado's extensive backcountry, ski-in huts remain unrivaled in the United States, particularly the Gothic, Friends, and Alfred Braun Huts. The Three Sisters Wilderness is a great place to ski some good lines. There were some isolated pockets of wind slab. Most of the east facing slopes were smooth. I want to make sure that my out-of-shape ass is not the last on the skin track. We had chosen Ball Butte after a lot of pre-planning where we reviewed the avalanche and weather forecast as well as pulling from our observations from the short tour we had taken on the previous day.
